Whites, metallic hues and
reds were favourites on the red carpet at Oscars this year. Click on to find
out which of these were fashion forward and which failed to make an impression.
We loved the sparkling
bracelet and ring on actress Gwyneth Paltrow, who was wearing a white Tom Ford
gown. However, the cape seemed a tad unnecessary as it hid her super
silhouette.
Actress Jane Seymour in a
sequined red dress. Thank goodness for the bling, or it would be difficult to
tell the carpet and the dress apart.
Singer Jennifer Lopez
looked divalicous in her white Zuhair Murad gown.
Actress Jessica Chastain, was a head turner in a
gold-detailed Alexander McQueen gown.
Actress Judy Greer, in a
Monique Lhuillier center sequined dress looked sleek.
Actress and talk show host
Kelly Ripa in a white Carolina Herrera dress.
Actress Lea Thompson in an
empire cut metallic-sequined creation, which didn't do much for her form.
Meryl Streep in a gold
Lanvin gown. Until we were told that, we thought she had draped a gold bed
sheet, rather well.
Michelle Williams in a
coral Louis Vuitton strapless gown added some frills to the red carpet.
Actress Natalie Portman in
a vintage red polka-dotted Christian Dior gown, kept it simple and supremely elegant.
Actress Octavia Spencer in
a form-flattering white sequined Tadashi Shoji gown.
Actress Rooney Mara looked
pristine in a white Givenchy gown. The elegant detailing on the dress was
beautiful, but we wish she had accentuated her ensemble with some sparking
accessories, to add some understated bling.
Actress Shailene Woodley
in a white Valentino couture gown could have ditched the covered-up ensemble
for more daring, as being edgy on the red carpet rocks!
Actress Stacy Keibler
dazzled in a gold-metal hued Marchesa gown.
